Students in the NROTC program are required to earn a Bachelor of
Arts or a Bachelor of Science degree in the major of their choice. All
NROTC students take a naval science class and a naval science drill
session each semester. In addition, Scholarship Program students are
required to take two semesters of calculus, to be completed by the end
of their sophomore year, and two semesters of calculus-based physics, to
be completed by the end of their junior year. Scholarship students are
also expected to participate in summer training cruises. In addition to
high academic standards, students are expected to maintain the highest
level of physical fitness, professionalism, and honor.
Students who plan to pursue the Scholarship Program should take mathematics and science classes in high school.
