Online Periodical Sources
EBSCOHost provides indexing and abstracting of periodical articles with links to full-text articles from over 8,000 periodical titles.
ProQuest Direct provides indexing and abstracting of periodical articles with links to full-text articles from over 5,000 periodical titles.
JU Periodicals Online (EBSCO A to Z) allows access to individual online periodical subscriptions and titles available through aggregate databases such as EBSCOHost or ProQuest. This source gives direct access to over 19,500 periodicals and allows users to look at titles by subject. For indexing of articles, users should use EBSCOHost, FirstSearch, ProQuest, CSA Biological Sciences, or another index.
Electronic Colletions Online/Florida Electronic Library (OCLC FirstSearch) provides simultaneous searching and bibliographic access to books, periodicals, and other documents around the world. JU’s holdings are marked. This source is also useful in identifying materials that can be borrowed through Interlibrary Loan.
CSA Biological Sciences provides indexing & abstracting to scientific journals, primarily in the biological and health sciences. There are no full-text links but notes direct users to sources.
Net Library
Net Library is a collection of over 40,000 e-books that can be viewed online. Although the Voyager catalog provides access to many of these titles, Net Library has its own search capability.
Full-Text Reference Sources
Children's Literature Database is a compendium in the field of Children's and Young Adult's literature. Includes biographical info on authors & illustrators, bibliographies, & reviews.
CIS Lexis-Nexis is a popular source for information on law, public affairs, & medicine, among other topics. Provides access to full-text sources not readily available elsewhere.
Encyclopaedia Britannica provides access to the acclaimed encyclopedia, the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, and links to related web sites.
Facts on File World News Digest provides full-text overviews with bibliographies of both historic events and current issues. Links provide context by connecting related events and topics.
GaleNet Literature Resource Center is online access to information about prominent authors and their works. There are also references to print sources within the JU collection. The Gale Literature Index provides indexing to all of Gale's print and online literature publications.
Grove Dictionary of Art in print is over 20 volumes. This is the online version and includes all of the images in the print version.
Grove Dictionary of Music & Musicians has long been the authority on world music of all types. The difference is that the online version is updated more frequently.
Hoover's Online is a reference source for information on companies and industries. Includes access to trade publication articles, news service items, and links to company web pages.
RIA Checkpoint is a web-based tax and accounting research database. It includes products from RIA, WG&L, AICPA, PPC, BNA Daily Tax Report™, West, FASB, IBFD, GEE, and Comtax.
ReferenceUSA is the ultimate directory to both companies and individuals. Also includes limited data on both publicly-traded and privately-owned companies. ReferenceUSA allows searching by geographical unit as well as industry.
xReferPlus is a database of over 100 reference sources in a variety of subject areas that can be searched simultaneously.
