Position Description

Position Summary:

 

This position is directly responsible to the President of the University. The individual is responsible for providing high-level administrative support; as well as performing a wide variety of highly responsible tasks and confidential work associated with the President’s Office.  This position manages all daily aspects of the Office of the President. 

 

Requirements

Description of Essential Job Duties:
·         Managing the President’s calendar including: meetings, community presentations, appointments involving University Administrators, faculty, staff, students, professional organizations, and government leaders
·         Screening incoming calls and mail correspondence
·         Ensures the President is briefed on his schedule and that he arrives on time to meetings
·         Monitors developing trends and issues of assigned area and informs President of impeding issues
·         Coordinate travel arrangements and preparing all travel related documents
·         Prepares correspondence and memos independently or from written and or oral instructions  
·         Prepares meeting agendas, presentations and reports
·         Maintain confidential files and records for the President
·         Arrange and prepare receptions and special luncheon meetings
·         Manages databases for mailings and organizational directories
·         Schedules facility setups and catering arrangements
·         Performs related duties as assigned
 
 

 

Qualifications

·         Ability to work independently with discretion
·         Maintain confidentiality
·         Communicate effectively: written and orally
·         Interpersonal skills: establish cooperative working relationships with internal and external University constituents
·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
·         Ability to multi-task and maintain a high level of professionalism
 

 

Prerequisites Required for Position:
 
1.      Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma and some college
 
2.      Minimum Work Experience: 3 to 5 years extensive experience supporting senior-level executives

 

3.      Preferred Qualifications:

 

·         Associate Degree
·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office
·         Technically savvy
