Position Description

Position Summary:
 
The Administrative Assistant for Experiential Learning (EL) supports the Executive Director of Experiential Learning for successful administration of the experiential learning graduation requirement. The Administrative Assistant works with other offices of Experiential Learning (Undergraduate Research, Career Development, Study Abroad and Service-Learning) to ensure successful marketing of EL, provide EL assessment support and enable tracking of the EL graduation requirement. This is a twelve-month, full-time position with benefits.

 

Requirements

Description of Essential Job Duties:

 

MARKETING:

  • Coordinate print and online marketing for the EL Program

ASSESSMENT:

  • Assist Executive Director with administration of EL assessments (including surveys, focus groups and interviews)
  • Record program goals and results in the TracDat system

COURSE TRACKING :

  • Collaborate with other EL departments and the Registrar’s Office to properly identify EL Courses
  • Collaborate with the Registrar’s Office and IT to track EL course completion.   
  • Provide students with information about the EL requirement and EL opportunities

 

Work Conditions:
  • Work is primarily indoors, but requires the incumbent to be in an outdoor environment when traveling between campus buildings or when off-campus.
  • Standard office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Incumbent will be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones and office machines

 

 Physical Requirements:

        ·  Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
        ·  Must be able to use computer for extended periods of time
        ·  Must be able to stand

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

 

Special Skills:

 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher;
  • Ability to work independently and follow through with minimal supervision;
  • Strong teamwork skills;
  • Ability to use discretionary judgment

 

Prerequisites Required for Position:

   Minimum Education Requirement: H.S. Diploma

   Minimum Work Experience: 

  • 1-2 years working in nonprofit, higher education or K-12

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some college or bachelor’s degree
  • 1-2 years of experience with assessment or marketing
