Position Description

Position Summary:  Serve as a full-time associate administrator of the Davis Aviation Center, primarily responsible for coordinating recruiting efforts and providing services to existing aviation students. The goal of this position will be to assist with the growth of the program and retaining students.

 

Responsibilities

Recruiting: Serve as the enrollment coordinator for the Davis Aviation Center and collaborate closely with Jacksonville University Admissions Office. Assist in growing our degree programs through aggressive student recruitment techniques.  Recruitment requires constant and personal interactions with prospective students and families.  Coordinate and management direct mail sequence with JU Admissions. Manage all incoming/outgoing communications with new aviation students. Coordinate campus tours with the Admissions Office.  Manage the Aviation Ambassador program and coordinate scheduling of airport tours. Participate in university-wide recruiting events. Prepare weekly enrollment statistics and reports.
 
Marketing: Develop annual marketing plan and marketing budget.  Implement marketing strategies designed to generate enquiries.  Travel to college fair programs, high schools, and industry conferences as required. Generate marketing analysis reports to evaluate marketing efforts.  Make presentations to potential aviation students and guidance counselors regarding the program. 
 
Communication: Coordinate closely with key university offices to facilitate all stages of the recruiting process, including Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, and Advising Center. Collaborate with Aerosim Flight Academy in joint recruiting and marketing initiatives. Establish new networks for recruitment and maintain solid working relationships with guidance counselors, industry professionals, community organizations, and Jacksonville University.
 

 

Student Services: Serve as the student services coordinator for the Davis Aviation Center. Assist incoming students with selection and registration of first semester classes. Manage the Aviation Internship Program, including coordination with sponsors and students. Coordinate guest speakers for the program year round. Teach JU 101 – Aviation, an introductory orientation course that introduces new students to university resources and aviation careers. Serve as advisor for one of the student aviation clubs on campus. Collaborate with our aviation advisory board as ex-officio member of the recruiting and marketing committee.

 

 

Work Conditions:
Primarily indoors, office setting, but requires to be in an outdoors when traveling between campus buildings
 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop and reach
  • Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines
  • Near-vision sufficient to read communications and computer display screens
  • Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by the phone

 

Qualifications

Special Skills:

  • Excellent oral and writing communication
  • Customer service
  • Above average computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, social media, web-related
  • Able to manage/prioritize daily tasks and multiple functions

 

 

Prerequisites Required for Position:

 

1.  Minimum Education Requirement:

         

          Bachelor’s degree
2.  Minimum Work Experience:

 

          At least one year of experience in an aviation related field (e.g. aviation management,                  aviation operations, or aviation training)

 

 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Master’s Degree in business
  • Marketing/recruiting experience
  • Possession of a FAA Private Pilot Certificate
  • Extensive knowledge of collegiate aviation programs and careers in the aviation industry
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends, and occasionally travel as needed
