Position Description

The Admissions Data Analyst is the functional lead of the admission operations unit. The unit is responsible for processing all undergraduate, transfer and graduate applications for admission. The Admissions Data Analyst is regarded as the campus wide expert in admissions operations with particular emphasis on Datatel Recruiter and Colleague.​


Essential Job Duties:

  • Provides leadership in the efficient and effective management of admissions operations, research and data in support of the annual recruitment and enrollment goals of the University
  • Provides an understanding of daily operations and an in-depth knowledge of the structure and contents of the student information system to evaluate, develop, maintain, update, test and implement the most effective and productive admissions uses of our SIS
  • Provides leadership in identifying ways to leverage the capability of the system to maximize operations and relationships with prospective students
  • Collaborates with the appropriate staff in the Information Technology arena to develop reports, dashboards for operations, etc., with a specific focus on admissions related data
  • Supervises the administration of the Admissions website, third party "Admissions Portal", online applications, relationships with technical vendors serving the admissions office
  • Represent the University in a professional manner to all constituencies
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Conditions:

  • Office setting
  • Normal working hours with occasional evening and weekend hours required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities as outlined in this job description
  • Light work-standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Talking, hearing, repetitive motions
  • Close visual acuity-viewing computer screen, extensive reading
  • Not exposed to adverse environmental conditions

Prerequisites Required for Position:

  • Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred
  • Must have advanced skills with student information systems, Datatel Colleague preferred
  • Proficiency with methods of electronic communication
  • Demonstrated expertise with statistical analysis software, such as Excel, SPSS, Access and MS Office tools
  • Proven ability to design and deliver technical training
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage conflicting deadlines, attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM highly desired
  • Familiarity with university Admissions
