Position Description

Position Summary:
The JU Master in Public Policy (MPP) Program Manager (“Manager”) will be responsible for:
(1) The administration of the JU MPP Program; (2) Overseeing  the JU Public Policy Institute (JU PPI) website and social media; and
(3) Coordinating, developing and implementing recruitment and marketing efforts. With appropriate credentials, the MPP Program Manager may also be a part of the JU PPI adjunct faculty.



Administration of MPP Program - The MPP Program Manager will be responsible for the administration of the MPP degree and three dual degree programs (MPP and JD, MBA, or Marine Science). The responsibilities include:
  • JU PPI Internship Program administration, which includes oversight, coordination, verification and logistics of internships for JU MPP students (including internship applications, presentations of participating agencies, logistics and data, contact information, placement data, and student tracking system),
  • Capstone Project oversight and administration,
  • Coordination and scheduling of law school courses with FCSL,
  • Oversight and administration of the three MPP dual degree programs,
  • Course catalog, scheduling of classes, Blackboard administration and updating, assist MPP students, orientation program for new students, admissions,
  • Coordination with admissions and the registrar,
  • Coordination, oversight and publication of the JU Public Policy Journal,
  • Archiving and making accessible internship reports and capstone projects,
  • Administration and oversight of JU PPI speakers, forums, conferences, board meetings, executive courses, certificate programs and other programs; and
  • All related JU PPI and MPP Program logistics, scheduling and administrative responsibilities.

Website and Social Media This responsibility includes monitoring, reviewing and updating the JU PPI website and social media. While the University has a Web Manager, the MPP Program Manager will oversee the website and social media, be trained on sharepoint, and will update basic content, text, and graphics on the website. The MPP Program Manager will also be responsible for JU MPP social media, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.


Marketing and Recruiting While the Marketing and Communications Department is responsible for marketing, and the Graduate Admissions Office is responsible for recruitment, the MPP Program Manager will serve as liaison to each and have significant responsibilities for coordination, development and implementation of JU MPP marketing and recruitment efforts.
Work Conditions:
Standard office hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional evening and weekend events. Most work is done in doors in the JU PPI offices in the Davis College of Business (DCOB), but JU PPI works collaboratively with the JU faculty and many University Departments, including Graduate Admissions, the Registrar, the Marketing and Communications Department, Finance and Administration, University Advancement, and the university Web Manager. JU PPI also works collaboratively with the Florida Coastal School of Law, the Chamber of Commerce, local government, non- profit organizations, and other organizations. Some minimal travel may be needed in working with community organizations and in marketing and recruiting.

Physical Requirements:
Office work required. Must be able to work on computer, draft documents and communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach
  • Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines
  • Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens
  • Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone.

       Bachelor’s or Graduate degree preferred
  • Minimum Work Experience: See job qualifications, description and special skills.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Administrative and management experience;
    • Technology and computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suites, Word, Excel, etc;
    • Social media and website development skills;
    • Marketing experience a positive; and
    • Bachelor’s or graduate degree preferred
