Position Description

Position Summary:
 
This position is responsible for coordinating all components of clinical and community sites utilized by Jacksonville University School of Nursing’s campus-based Undergraduate and Graduate programs.  This will be accomplished by working closely with program directors, course coordinators, course faculty and students.

 

Responsibilities

Description of Essential Job Duties:
 

 

  1. Develops and manages relationships with hospitals, clinical and community agency sites being utilized by graduate and undergraduate nursing students to complete clinical rotations/preceptorships and presents sites to clinical coordinators and program directors for approval.
  2.  Responsible for obtaining signatures and renewing and/or terminating affiliation agreements between Jacksonville University School of Nursing and clinical sites, based on alignment with clinical objectives.
  3. Maintains an updated database with specific compliance and/or training requirements by each clinical and/or community facility, and ensures that students and faculty are compliant with and are prevented from entering clinical agency sites if they are not.
  4. Coordinates and facilitates student compliance activities for clinical agencies to include agency orientations and completion of required forms, EMR trainings, and screenings in addition to initial SON required screenings.
  5. Manages relationships with existing clinical agency partners to ensure student and clinical site satisfaction as well as successful clinical experiences for nursing students.  Administers facility evaluations and is responsible for the identification and assessment of concerns related to clinical experiences.  Facilitates appropriate intervention with faculty and program directors and course coordinators.
  6. Participates in academic planning and scheduling for students by securing adequate clinical placement inventory for registration choices for students and faculty.
  7. Facilitates recruitment and selection of clinical preceptors utilized in assigned student clinical experiences with appropriate nursing faculty.
  8. Plans and attends clinical coordination forums, pre-clinical summit events, career fairs, student forums, and conferences as appropriate to prepare and assess clinical program effectiveness.
  9. Completes work in a timely manner, including preparing, documenting, and tracking clinical assignments.
  10.  Serves as role model for faculty, staff, and students in the areas of customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, attendance, and general professionalism.
  11. Any other duties as may be assigned or required.

 
 
Physical Requirements:
 
  1. Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines
  2. Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens
  3. Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Work Conditions:
 

 

  1. Primarily indoors except when traveling between campus buildings or being off-campus
  2. Standard office hours 8:30am to 5:00pm
  3. Some off-campus travel required
  4. Work is performed under minimum supervision and requires incumbent to exercise independence and discretion

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Special Skills:
 
  1. Candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter who can be a team player and desires to share creative solutions and best practices.
  2. Requirements include problem-solving, critical thinking skills and the ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
  3. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are required, inside sales and/or sales support skills helpful.
  4. Solid knowledge or experience working in healthcare field, directly with or for providers is preferred. 
  5. Attention to detail and mental concentration are necessary for accurately performing tasks; ability to tolerating frequent interruptions.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  1. Bachelor’s degree required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Ideal candidate must have 3-5 years of successful demonstration of business development and/or sales competencies.
