Position Description

​The MSN Online Advisor works in a team-based environment with an online format and within the School of Nursing to advise online MSN students.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Evaluate college and university transcripts for online MSN nursing students
  • Coordinate with the Registrar the posting of transferred courses
  • Provide academic advising for prospective and current online MSN nursing students under the supervision of the School of Nursing Director of MSN programs. 
  • Coordinate online academic schedules and serve as a liaison to online faculty
  • Serve as a liaison between BISK and Jacksonville University for the online MSN program
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Conditions:

  • Work is performed under minimum supervision and requires incumbent to exercise independence and discretion

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines
  • Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens
  • Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone

Prerequisites Required for Position:

1. Minimum Education Requirement:

  • Master's degree

2. Minimum Work Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Computer literate
  • Experience in a university environment

3. Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of nursing profession and educational requirements
