Social Responsibility

Jacksonville University will be a strong and committed partner for the people and stakeholders of our community. As a leading academic institution, we have a responsibility to give back to the community through an investment of time and resources. We are proud to be part of a Jacksonville community that values service to others and has one of the highest volunteer rates in the country. Our relationship and focus will continually evolve to ensure we are providing value to the community.

Since our founding in 1934, Jacksonville University has a long tradition of community service. During the 2015-16 school year, the Jacksonville University family provided over 30,000 volunteer hours with an economic impact of over $700,000. Jacksonville University also provided over $150k in support to charitable organizations through sponsorships and donations, $25K in kind donations for non-profit organizations utilizing our campus. The University also provides an estimated $272 million in economic impact. This educational activity generated an estimated $91 million in labor income and was responsible for generating over 2,518 jobs in the region. Our University provides leadership in the community that enhances economic revitalization, civic engagement, and social responsibility.
