Alumni Couple Says “I DO” to each other and “We Do” to Annual Giving

Brian and Michale Dudley were featured in the spring 2008 Wave magazine.

Michale remembers the very first time she met Brian.  She had just joined Alpha Delta Pi and had ventured out to play miniature golf with her new sorority sisters.  While they were there, a group of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity brothers arrived, Brian was a part of that group. Michale still remembers how his blue rowing hat with the “ridiculous fish hook attached to the brim brought out the blue in his eyes!”  It was the start of something special.

They were married in June of ’99 and there were four JU alumni in the wedding party!  They have two daughters, Grace and Catherine, and are expecting another addition to their family in July of ’08.

Looking back at their time at JU, Brian remembers “learning so much from each other then and still to this day.”  Brian graduated with a degree in finance and returned to earn his MBA. Michale graduated with her degree in elementary education.  Michale recalls, “One of my favorite moments was getting the phone call my sophomore year letting me know I was elected Student Government President!”

“JU’s culture and approachable faculty provided opportunities to practice leadership,” Brian adds. “Few institutions can provide such a ripe proving ground as JU.  Practicing these skills in college enabled me to begin leading myself, my family and my colleagues as soon as I started my career and has helped me in my profession and my community.”

The Dudleys have such a passion for their time together at JU and the experiences they shared with each other that they have made consecutive gifts to JU for the past 10 years!  “The experiences I had as a student and the opportunities that my degrees have provided for me have been immeasurable. I feel an obligation to do my part to enable and enhance opportunities for current and future students,” Brian explains.

The importance of giving back was instilled in Brian while he worked for the development office as part of the Phonathon program. Michale served on the senior class gift committee.  “I’m an educator,” Michale explains, “I know the value of investing in education.  JU needs the support of alumni to continue to impact its future students.  It’s not only an investment in the current and future students, but an investment in yourself.”

As Michale states, "annual giving is an investment in the power of your degree, in the strength of JU and in its future."  Join the Dudleys in contributing your annual gift today.
