On the Other End...

“Is Mr. John Smith available? I am calling from Jacksonville University.”  Sound familiar?  Who is this person on the other end of the phone? Each semester, for several weeks, JU Students spend hours on the phone reaching out to you and other alumni and friends to tell you about all the exciting things happing on campus.

We thought it would be nice for you to put a face to the voice!  Meet Jalysse Frederick!

Jalysse is only in her first year at JU, and already she is involved and defining a path for herself.  As a psychology major, she is not only busy with her studies as a new college student, but she has taken on extra curricular activities and employment, such as joining the JU Phonathon Program.  We are thrilled to have such young talent in our program and impressed with the drive and determination that Jalysse has!

What do you like most about the Phonathon?

J: I like getting the pledges and raising the money!

If you could tell those you call one thing about yourself, JU, or giving back what would it be?

J: That by giving back they help out current and future students, and I'd remind them that someone did it for them so why not do the same.

When you graduate what will you miss most about JU and will you give back or stay involved through Alumni Relations?

J: The people I met while attending JU.  I most definitely will give back.

If you could tell alumni 5 reasons to give to JU, what would it be?

J: Help students out so that they can afford to go to JU.  It will help raise the percentage of alumni participation, so then we can get money from large corporations.  It will help my peers and I enjoy our time here at JU.  It goes towards improving the school.  It's tax deductable-- so why not!

Jalysse is just one of our fantasic student callers!  They look forward to speaking with you next time they call, so, when your phone rings, take a moment to hear what they have to say, to share some JU memories with them, and to allow your legacy to continue!
