Physics
Jacksonville University’s physics program relies heavily on research and laboratory experiences. Add to the equation small classes, knowledgeable faculty and abundant equipment resources, and you have a physics program like no other. The curriculum includes a range of physics topics and labs, some math courses and a senior project course. In recent years, JU physics professors have adopted innovative computer-based learning tools that provide new ways of exploring the field. In all of your learning experiences, you’ll have an opportunity to solve physics problems in the context of the world around you.
As a physics major at Jacksonville University, you’ll spend a lot of time in our labs. And not just for your classes. There are also opportunities to conduct independent research and to partner with faculty on advanced research projects. If you’re interested in astronomy, you won’t have to go far for your star-gazing. Our observatory is located on top of the Howard Building in the heart of campus.
