Professor Ricci has been a performer, jazz educator, clinician, and private instructor in the North Florida area for eight years. He has performed with Blue Note recording artist trumpeter Marcus Printup, and at Preservation Hall in New Orleans, received outstanding soloist awards at the 1994 and 1995 Mobile National Jazz Festival, performed in the Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival, and won the combo division of the 1995 Down Beat Collegiate Music Awards.

Professor Ricci has performed with pianist and vocalist Loston Harris, the Jacksonville Symphony Pops Orchestra, has performed lead tenor saxophone with several Rhythm and Blues acts ranging from The Temptations to The O’ Jays, was invited to perform in the 2000 Singapore “Chijazz” Jazz Festival and has performed regularly in the annual Jacksonville Jazz Festival and Savannah Jazz Festival. He has also recently been invited to perform with internationally recognized jazz pianist Donald Brown in the Donald Brown Quintet (The Forces of Inspiration).

Professor Ricci has taught saxophone, jazz theory, and jazz ensembles at the University of North Florida for four years. In fall of 2001, he was appointed artist in residence and Director of Jazz Studies at Jacksonville University. In fall of 2003, he was promoted to the position of visiting professor as Director of Jazz Studies and Coordinator of Recruiting for the Department of Music at JU and in the spring of 2006 was again promoted to Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies. He also currently leads his own professional jazz quartet performing regularly in the Southeast.
