Aeronautics

The Aeronautics program is housed in the new Davis College of Business building, JU’s largest classroom facility. Its wired classrooms (and wireless technology throughout) provide technologically advanced learning spaces. Each classroom has computer, DVD, and video projection systems that faculty use in lectures and students use in presentations. Two computer lab/classrooms, a Trading Room and a Behavioral Lab provide specialized learning space. The facility also has executive training rooms, conference space, breakout rooms, a student lounge and a small café. Within the Davis College, the Aeronautics program has dedicated classroom, office and general purpose space. In the future, this facility will be the home of a Flight Simulation Center, Learning Resource Center and FAA Written Testing Facility.

Flight students in the program have unparalleled exposure to commercial aviation resources and enjoy pleasant flying weather throughout the year. Jacksonville University is ideally located at the heart of a major transportation hub and trade center with a diverse array of airports, air traffic control facilities, navigational facilities, and military installations. Delta Connection Academy, headquartered in Sanford, Florida, has established a satellite base at Craig Municipal Airport, located only six miles from the main campus, to serve exclusively as JU's flight center. Students train on DCA’s fleet of Cessna and Piper aircraft.
