Aeronautics

The Student Flight Team competes in regional and national competition in ground and flight events with the National Intercollegiate Flying Association. Students also have the opportunity to develop leadership and teamwork skills by joining student chapters of Alpha Eta Rho international aviation fraternity, the American Association of Airport Executives and Women in Aviation. Through these organizations, students can meet peers who share similar interests in aviation and participate in exciting activities, such as visiting local air traffic control facilities and airports. These student organizations are very proactive in providing members with scholarships, internships, and career opportunities. JU is an institutional member of the University Aviation Association, the Council on Aviation Accreditation, and the Florida Aviation Trade Association. Membership entitles students to aviation scholarships, training and career resources, and attendance at special annual events and activities.
