Current Outside Scholarship Opportunities and Resources 
The College Fund of Pinellas County  raises money in order to help financially disadvantaged Pinellas County residents who have excellent scholastic potential, but insufficient funds to obtain a bachelor’s degree and thereby improve themselves, their family’s living standard, and their role in the community.  Once a student is selected, remains academically qualified, continues to receive a Pell grant, and continues to carry 12 or more hours, that student is supported for up to four years.Grants are up to $1,000 per school year ($500 per semester) for up to four years.
Minimum Requirements for a Student Financial Aid Grant
1.  Be a U.S. citizen residing in Pinellas County,
2. (a.) Be a high school graduate with a grade point average of at least 3.00, or
    (b.) Be a current or former college student who has demonstrated the ability to  complete at least 12       hours in a single term (semester, quarter, etc.) in courses credited  toward graduation
3.  Be a full time undergraduate student in a regionally accredited (e.g., Southern Association of Colleges & Schools) college or university, and
4.  Be a recipient of a Pell Grant.
Students who meet the foregoing four requirements may request an application form in order to apply for the fall 2014 - spring 2015 school year.  Simply print out and complete the Request for Application and mail it back.
You may be contacted by telephone or email before an application is mailed to you.
In order to enhance their chances of being scheduled for an interview, new applicants (i.e., students who have not received a College Fund grant in the current or preceding semester) should submit your application as soon as possible after the spring 2014 college semester (or after 2014 graduation for high school students).  Applications must be accompanied by a transcript which includes spring 2014 grades and a financial aid notice from the college showing that they have received a Pell grant for the fall 2014 - spring 2015 school year.  No applications will be accepted after 32 interview slots are filled or the fourth Friday in July, whichever comes first.  *No JU student has won this scholarship, yet.  Let's make it happen!*More details.

The Techlaw LLP Entrepreneurship Scholarship:
Techlaw LLP is a boutique intellectual property law firm, handling trademarks, copyrights and patents. A scholarship offered to the student who writes the best short essay on intellectual property law per the guidelines set forth on This scholarship requires an easy application form submitted through email. The LogoMaker Scholarship – LogoMaker is proud to announce their scholarship program for U.S. students enrolled in undergraduate studies. They will be offering a $2,500 annual scholarship to help students pay for tuition, books and other academic fees. To apply, write a 500-700 word essay on the impact of art and design in commerce. Reverie Innovation Scholarship - Undergraduate and graduate engineering students who will be attending an accredited university in the United States in the Fall of 2014 are eligible to apply for our scholarship. Bud Siegfried Scholarship - is offering a $ 1,000 scholarship to help students pursuing a professional degree cover the costs of tuition. Mark A. Forester Scholarship-  Rocky Mountain Mattress Company proudly contributes to The Mark Forester Foundation scholarship fund and is now holding an essay contest; the contest winner will receive a $1000 scholarship in the name of The Mark Forester Foundation.  Senior Airman, Mark A. Forester was killed September 29th, 2010 in Afghanistan while risking his life to save a fallen comrade.  Mark died serving his country, family and friends. The Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship Program for the Fall 2014 semester includes two (2) $10,000 scholarships and four (4) $5,000 scholarships, to be awarded to undergraduate and graduate students with a declared major of biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related life-science field. To qualify for the scholarship, students must have a GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and be enrolled in an accredited college for university for the Fall 2014 semester. In addition to these qualifications, students must also be legal United States residents, meaning that students possessing appropriate Visa status in order to study in the United States are also eligible.
Students may apply for the scholarship through the Thermo Scientific Pierce Scholarship Website. Each school year, a working student receives $1,000 toward college tuition costs. Lexington Law Scholarship- is offering a $10,000 annual scholarship ($5,000 per spring and fall semesters) to help college students maintain great credit scores. Students interested in applying for the scholarship are required to write an essay of 800 words about what a credit score means to them, impacts their financial future, and how they plan to develop a great credit score during their college years. The website hosts a monthly T-Shirt design contest in which people submit their artwork based on a preselected theme. The artwork is then voted on the by the community and the winner receives their choice of $200 cash or a $400 scholarship to the school of their choice + $1 for every shirt sold past 144.  The Wimdu Scholarship programme is designed to recognize the skills that are fundamental to a successful marketing campaign in a fast-paced, global economy. A scholarship of $2000 will be provided annually in February to assist a promising student interested in pursuing a career in business and marketing related fields.
All entrants must be entering their final year of study in a degree connected to the fields of Marketing, Business Administration or Communications. $5,000 Continuing Education Scholarship Starting September 2014 - •The Cash Store, in partnership with Scholarship America, will be offering five individual $1,000 scholarships for people who are continuing their college education. 2014 Legal Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship is an annual $1,000 scholarship awarded to a student pursuing a career in the legal field who submits the best 200-300 word essay on the topic of how legal professionals can make a positive difference in their community. Applicants must be college students pursuing a legal related undergraduate degree or certificate such as pre-law, paralegal, or criminal justice. AES Scholarships for 2014 -  AES Engineering is pleased to be able to continue offering scholarships to motivated students to help in the furthering of their education.  You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.  Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped.  The Global English Editing Scholarship Program awards one $1500 scholarship each year to a high performing student in the United States.  Global English Editing is rewarding talented American students that, through their current studies and career plans, intend to make an outstanding contribution to the country’s future.  Look Twice, Save a Life Scholarship is proud to introduce a new $1,000 scholarship promoting motorcycle safety among students.  The scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis for the Spring semester. Rosenfeld Injury Lawyers’ Single Mother Scholarship - Education has the power to open doors for single mothers and even their children. Sutliff & Stout Scholarship Contest - As personal injury lawyers who frequently represent victims of auto accident injuries, they see firsthand the devastating effects of texting and driving. While there are hundreds, if not thousands of campaigns for texting and driving awareness, no one has come up with a way to definitively end the problem.  For this, the inaugural year of the annual Sutliff & Stout scholarship contest, they are asking students to come up with an idea and a prototype for technology that would prevent texting and driving altogether.  Then, create a prototype of that technology. This could be as simple as a cell phone lock-box, or as complex as a car which drains a cell phone’s battery. We would like to see how creative you can make your prototype. The Andrew Flusche Scholarship Contest - will require students to raise awareness about the problem of underage drinking and driving among their peers. The contest requires you to create a public service advertisement video (PSA) which raises awareness of the severity of the consequences of drunk driving among your peers.

The Drive to Learn Scholarship - Applicants must be enrolled full time at a four-year university, graduate program, community college, or trade school (at least 12 undergraduate units or 6-9 graduate units) located in the continental United States. U.S citizens and non-U.S. citizens are eligible to apply. See the website for further details on how to apply. Deadline May 1, 2015. Working Student Scholarship - The Working Student Scholarship of $2,000 will be awarded to a student who is currently attending college (and working while they do it). The scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis for the Fall 2015 semester.  To apply for this scholarship, you will need to fill out the form on the website and write an essay somehow covering the topic of working while in school. Essays should be at least 800 words in length. Any student currently enrolled in an accredited US college or university is eligible to apply. The current application deadline is June 10, 2015.

The Aylesworth Scholarship, for example, will pay a student up to $10K per year for the duration of their degree program and is open to any FL university student working in a marine related field. Hurst Review Services & the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) is offering Nursing scholarships to students pursuing professional degrees. Hurst Review Services, the fastest growing NCLEX Review Company in the country, and the AACN have partnered to award scholarships to students pursuing professional nursing degrees.
