Transfer BSN
Transfer Program Admission Requirements:
- Acquire admission to Jacksonville University. JU online application may be accessed at http://www.ju.edu/departments/majors/nursing_contacts.aspx
- Submit the nursing application and all supporting materials to the School of Nursing by December 1st, including transcripts, recommendations, and health and immunization form. The application may be accessed at http://www.ju.edu/departments/majors/nursing_contacts.aspx
- Applicants will be scored on GPA, recommendations, essay, and interview.
- Submit a $15 nonrefundable application fee.
- Completion of Associates in Arts Degree from a Florida Public Institution or transfer credit for the all undergraduate university core*.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale based on AA degree.
- Be able to complete, prior to enrollment in the major, all the specific prerequisites required for the major and have at least sophomore standing at JU.
- **Prerequisite courses:
- Human Anatomy & Physiology I
- Human Anatomy & Physiology II
- General Chemistry (must include a lab)
- Microbiology
- Human nutrition
- Human Growth & Development
- Statistics
- Hold Basic Life Support (CPR) certification and maintain certification for entire time of enrollment in the School of Nursing.
- The School of Nursing requires all students to have a Criminal Background Check on file. The student is responsible for the cost of the background check. Instructions will be given to beginning nursing students upon entry into the program. Students are required to complete background checks within two weeks of enrollment. Completed background checks will be kept by the School of Nursing in a secure location.
- All students whose first language is not English must also take the TOEFL. Examination and score either 540 on the paper based exam, 207 on the computer based exam, or 76 on the internet based exam
*Non-nursing required courses if student does not have AA degree from Florida state school:

** Prerequisite courses with less than a āCā grade may be repeated once, and no more than two courses may be repeated. Letters to the School of Nursing Admissions, Progression, and Retention Committee may request an exception to this requirement.
