Second Degree BSN
If you already hold a bachelor's degree and want to pursue a career in nursing, Jacksonville University’s School of Nursing offers you the opportunity to complete your nursing degree in 16 months with our Second Degree Program.
To apply, you must complete the JU online application and the separate nursing application by December 1. Applicants may apply to the School of Nursing without all admission requirements complete; however, all requirements must be met by the start of the nursing program. You will be scored on your cumulative GPA, interview, essay and recommendations.

Admission Requirements:
• A $15 nonrefundable application fee
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
• Complete, prior to enrollment, the following prerequisites*:
- Human Anatomy & Physiology I
- Human Anatomy & Physiology II
- A General Chemistry (must include a lab)
- Microbiology
- Human Nutrition
- Human Growth & Development
- Statistics
* Prerequisite courses with less than a “C” grade may be repeated once, and no more than two courses may be repeated. Letters to the School of Nursing Admissions, Progression, and Retention Committee may request an exception to this requirement.
