UPDATE
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is investigating an aggravated assault which occurred in Oak Hall, on the fourth floor, on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at approx. 5:30 p.m.
The suspect, Reginald Tribble, attacked another student with a baseball bat. The suspect surrendered himself at the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 7:09 p.m. on April 4, 2008. He has been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and has been released on a $50,000 bond. Mr. Tribble plead not guilty to the charges filed by the State Attorney's Office in the 4th Judicial Circuit on April 28, 2008. The weapon in this case has been recovered.
This and other notifications are intended to raise awareness about criminal activity on or near Jacksonville University property and in areas frequented by faculty, staff and students. Local law enforcement and university officials encourage students and employees to report suspicious activity and threats made against others in order initiate a prompt investigation and take steps to insure the safety and security of the campus.
This timely warning is provided in compliance with the Clery Act.
