Deadline for Ordering cap & Gown and Invitations.  Place order at the JU Bookstore or on-line at www.herfjones.com/college/graduation/

Cost for academic regalia are as follows:

• Undergraduate cap and gown - $28.25
• Graduate cap, gown, and hood - $58.45

Jacksonville University faculty and administration invite all graduating seniors and their families to celebrate commencement during the Senior Reception. Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served. Attire is business casual.

9:40 a.m..................Processional Begins from Swisher Theatre to Swisher Gymnasium
10:00 a.m................Ceremony Begins in Swisher Gymnasium

Graduation List - Posted outside the Registrar's Office and on Blackboard.

Bachelor Graduates - your cap and gown will be black with a green and white tassel.  The tassel is to be worn on your right-hand side.  During the ceremony you will be instructed to move the tassel to your left-hand side.  You will keep your cap, gown, and tassel after the ceremony.  The white collar, included with the cap and gown, is customarily worn by female graduates. 

Master Graduates - your cap and gown will be black with a black tassel.  Your tassel should be worn on your left-hand side, since you have a Bachelor’s degree.  You will have a hood with the color that represents your area of study:

Blue...............Education
Brown............Business
Peach............Nursing

You will keep your cap, gown, tassel, and hood (Masters Graduates) after the ceremony.

Latin Honors for Bachelor Degree Candidates 
Bachelor students who will complete their degree requirements with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, and have earned a minimum of 60 graded (A-F) credits at Jacksonville University will graduate with Latin Honors:

• Cum Laude 3.5-3.69
• Magna Cum Laude 3.7-3.89
• Summa Cum Laude 3.9-4.00  

Latin Honors recognized at the December Commencement ceremony will be calculated on the cumulative GPA as of November 14, 2008.  Latin Honors for the official record, diploma, and transcript will use the graduating GPA, which will be based on the GPA at the end of the 2008 Fall terms. 

Graduates with Latin Honors are noted in the Commencement Program and are eligible to wear a Gold Cord at Commencement.  Gold Cords can be picked up on Friday, December 12, in the Registrar's Office or at the Senior Reception, and on Saturday, December 13, at 9:00 a.m. in the Swisher Theatre.
