Psychology

When you study psychology at Jacksonville University, you’ll develop a better understanding of how you—and the people around you—think, feel and act. By gaining an overall knowledge of psychological concepts, theories, issues and research methods, you’ll discover practical applications that will help in your educational, personal and professional life. In addition to learning about human development and behavior, psychology majors develop skills in communication, problem solving, critical thinking, and interpersonal interactions.

In our close-knit department, it’s easy for JU faculty members to cultivate supportive relationships with students. Psychology majors complement their degree further through undergraduate research projects, independent study and community service. More than half of the psychology majors at JU take advantage of internships and research opportunities, many of which are right in Jacksonville, such as Mayo Clinic, Hope Haven Children’s Clinic, governmental agencies, area hospitals, and more.
