Application & Requirements
Fourteen new students are selected each year. Possession of the dental doctorate before matriculation is an absolute prerequisite. Application packets are available from the Dental School of Orthodontics at JU or can be downloaded in pdf format. As this is a self-directed application, it is the applicant's sole responsibility to ensure the application is complete and received on a timely basis. JU Minimum Requirements for U.S. Students
- DDS/DMD or equivalent
- US National Board scores Part I & Part II (if available)
- Letters of recommendation (3) from:
Dean of Dental School, or
Dental School Faculty, or
Professional Colleagues
- Autobiographical sketch stating goals and purpose
- A recent 2x2 passport size photo
- Application fee of $100
JU Minimum Requirements for International Students.
- International dental graduate students must possess a U.S. or Canadian Dental Degree or the educational equivalent as determined by the Dean of the Dental School of Orthodontics.
- US National Board scores Part I & II (if available)
- TOEFL scores above the 90th percentile (270 computer, 610 paper)
- Letters of recommendation (3) from either the Dean of your Dental School, or Dental School Faculty, or other Professional Colleagues; all of whom can attest to the character and background of the applicant
- Autobiographical sketch stating goals and purpose
- A recent 2x2 passport size photo
- Application fee of $100
At the present time, it is expected that applications for admission will be accepted through a date to be determined in early to mid October. Applicants who have completed their applications are invited for on-site interviews. All applicants will be evaluated on the uniqueness of their candidacy and the potential benefits that each candidate can bring to the program.
