Oboist, performer, associate professor of music, teacher of music theory, music appreciation, music for the dance, clarinet techniques, woodwind techniques, friend of students and faculty, lover of Bach and Mahler.

Since completing his formal studies, his performance career has included the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, Guild Opera Company, Civic Light Opera of LA, Riverside Symphony Orchestra, UCLA Chamber Orchestra, in Honolulu with the Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Woodwind Quintet, Opera Orchestra, Civic Light Opera, in Aspen with the Festival Orchestra, and Woodwind Quintet. He also performed with the NORAD band, Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, the JU Band, and Community Orchestra..

Professor Haygood was a regular adjudicator for the Florida Bandmasters Association and the Jacksonville Bandmasters Association.  Professor Haygood is also active in The College Music Society, International Double Reed Society, Florida Bandmasters Association, Florida Music Education Association, American Federation of Musicians, Mu Phi Epsilon and Pi Kappa Lambda.
