Dolphinium Records

Dolphinium Records is the student-run, campus based record label for Jacksonville University. Label affairs are coordinated by Music Entertainment Industry Student Association chapter officers and members, and are led by the Music Business and Recording Professor Dr. Thomas Harrison.
In 2008, the label released their first recording: Dolphinium Records Compilation, 2008, featuring student projects from the songwriting and production courses. Audio samples from the release are below.
The students are scouting talent now for their first featured artist, to be released in 2009. Dr. Harrison will produce the 10-song recording, at no cost to the winning group for either recording expenses. The artist will be provided with 100 copies of the retail-ready compact discs for them to sell at shows for their own profit, with the label placing other copies in retail outlets for purchase by the artist's fans.
Artists interested in submitting promotion materials for consideration by the label's A&R staff are welcome to do so, however the following criteria must be met for consideration for this year's signee:
The group must be performing in public regularly, with a consistent fan base in their local area;
- The group must be able to do some small regional touring (within 200 miles);
- Though we respect free speech in lyrical content, we reserve the right to consider artists with lyrics that are appropriate to the academic community as Jacksonville University is an educational institution first;
- An 8x10, Black and White promotion photograph must be included with a compact disc demo recording, and
- A short, typed, bio with performance history must be included.
It is strongly encouraged that artists are to copyright their material before sending it to anyone, including our staff, for your own protection. All genres are considered.
