Whether you’re singing in the Christmas chorale concert, performing in the Big Band jazz ensemble, or belting Broadway-style for a musical opera, you’ll definitely find your niche at JU. Working closely with a distinguished faculty, you can focus and refine your skills while you deepen your appreciation for the art.

Jacksonville University is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music. Our esteemed music degree programs are designed to meet a variety of student needs—for those who wish to teach, enter the music business industry, perform professionally in theatre and concert settings, or attend graduate school. We offer a year-round concert series, a dozen vocal and instrumental performing groups, and a well-rounded and academically challenging curriculum. Take a look at the programs we offer:

Bachelor of Music - B.M. degree – Majors offered in performance areas (voice, piano, organ, instruments, and piano accompanying) and in composition and theory (including electronic music.) 

Bachelor of Music Education - B.M.E. degree - Designed to satisfy certification requirements to teach music in grades K-12 in Florida and most states.

Bachelor or Arts - B.A. degree - Concentrations in music theory, music history, applied music, music business and music theatre.  These concentrations prepare students for careers or further study for advanced degrees.
