Foreign Language

Internship & Career Opportunities

Many graduates attend graduate school, but other options are available, such as careers in business, teaching, and foreign service. Foreign language and literature students have a growing interest in journalism, international education, Third World development, and public policy. These general areas are not mutually exclusive; in fact, it is recommended that students decide on a particular area associated with language, such as business, education, or political science, then determine the entry level positions available.

Some of the employers of JU foreign languages and literatures graduates include the Florida Department of Transportation; the University of Texas Southwest Medical Center; the Virgin Islands Department of Education; the Savannah (Ga.) School District; the International Association of Fire Chiefs; and the U.S. Foreign Service.
