Internship & Career Opportunities

Students not only earn academic credit for internship experiences, but also valuable work experience that complements their education and helps them to gain hands-on experience in their chosen career.

Since critical thinking and analytical skills are emphasized in all English courses, graduates of the English program are currently attending graduate school, medical school, and law school, and pursuing careers in business management, publishing, editing, and secondary and elementary education. JU English graduates have gone on to successful careers in a variety of areas. Some of their employers include Viewpoint, the Otis Smith Foundation, Data Systems, Inc., Jacksonville Public Libraries, the Duval County School District, and the U.S. House of Representatives.
