Internship & Career Opportunities

Education majors participate in a practicum/student teaching experience according to their major. Courses are designed to provide students with an opportunity to participate in the elementary classroom with experienced teachers to observe classroom dynamics, teaching processes, diversities in learning, and organization of learning experiences. Secondary education students have opportunities to participate in subject-area classrooms with experienced teachers. JU education majors can take advantage of pre-teaching opportunities in local schools.

Jacksonville University education graduates may be found in the school districts of Duval and surrounding counties, as well as those throughout Florida, the United States and abroad. Many pursue post baccalaureate programs to earn master’s and doctoral degrees, including the Master of Arts in Teaching at JU. A number of graduates pursue careers in fields other than teaching.
