Computing Sciences
Curriculum Overview
CS majors take a common set of computing courses designed to give them a thorough understanding of computer programming, data base management, systems analysis, and telecommunications. Students may shape their programs to meet their individual interests and career objectives by taking elective courses in the areas of multimedia, computer organization, programming languages, graphics, and operating systems. Students also participate in undergraduate research and departmental honors projects.
In addition, students develop skills in all phases of communication, management, teamwork, and leadership, skills critical to success in today's dynamic workplace. The faculty places a heavy emphasis on teamwork and speech-intensive classes. Students graduating from the program are well-prepared in the field of computing communication and in teamwork skills.
