Majors & Courses

Majors are offered in Biology, Chemistry, Communication, Computing Sciences, Elementary Education, English, French, Geography, History, Humanities, Marine Science, Mathematics, Nursing, Philosophy, Physical Education, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Spanish. Preprofessional programs are available to students interested in law, medicine, pharmacy, dental medicine and veterinary medicine. Dual degree programs are also available in engineering.

Students majoring in the fields offered by the College of Arts and Sciences must complete the core curriculum, the degree requirements for a B.A.(one International Study course), B.S. (one language course) or B.S.N degree, and the requirements of the major.

Students enrolled in any College of Arts and Sciences discipline who plan to teach on the secondary level must also complete the professional education courses listed under “Education.”
