  3. Are you willing to be a 24/7 resource for other students? YES NO
  4. Could you approach a resident about a personal concern that you know about? YES NO
  5. Would you be comfortable working with students different than you? YES NO
  6. Can you place the needs of others above your own? YES NO
  7. Can you handle the fact that not everyone on the floor will like you? YES NO
  8. Are you comfortable with conflict? YES NO
  9. Can you be fair and objective when dealing with a conflict involving your friends? YES NO
  10. Can you be a good role model both on and off-campus? YES NO
  11. Are you an easy person to get to know? YES NO
  12. Are you able to react and express yourself in tense situations? YES NO
  13. Are you a good team member? YES NO
  14. Would you be comfortable confronting your friend about inappropriate behavior? YES NO
  15. Do you project a positive self-image? YES NO

If you answered 12 or more of the above questions with a “yes,” you have a good general understanding of the time and energy required to be a Community Advisor or Peer Mentor. For those questions which you answered “no,” please discuss your expectations with a Residential Life staff member at an information session.
