Information Technology
Information Technology is located in the Founders building on the campus of Jacksonville University. Our main office and the Helpdesk are in Room 14 and can be reached by phone (904-256-7200), email (helpdesk@ju.edu), or just by stopping by the office. Our regular hours of operation are MTTF 8:30am to 5pm and Wednesdays 11am to 5pm. Hours are extended during fall and spring semesters and we may be closed after noon on Fridays during the summer semester. You may want to call ahead if you plan to visit outside our regular hours.
We provide a wide range of services to our students, faculty and staff. Our network consists of a gigabit fiber backbone that runs to each building on campus. Every resident student is provided with a 100 megabit network connection in their room which allows them to connect their computer or game console to the JU network and the Internet. Wireless connections are available in the Library and the Davis College of Business. Plans are being developed to expand wireless coverage campus wide and to support the latest wireless standards. There are two open computer labs that provide access to the applications you will need to complete your class work. Resident students are also able to access these same applications directly from their rooms with their own computer. For our employees we maintain an expert staff of programmers, technicians, and network engineers ready to assist them with their technology needs. Training for the various technologies employed on campus is also available to our employees. These are just some of the services we offer our students and employees. A complete list of services as well as more details on those listed above can be found on the My JU portal.
The Helpdesk is the central point of contact for all computer/network related service requests, technology questions and special requests. Give us a call to discuss your technology needs or just to tell us how we’re doing. We look forward to serving you.
