Position Title: Visiting Professor of Sports Administration
Department: Education
Status: FT, Non-tenure Track
Reports to: Dean, School of Education
Position Description
This position is located in the School of Education's Department of Physical Education. The candidate should be able to teach courses in the undergraduate and graduate Physical Education program and undergraduate/graduate Sports Administration concentration, as well as advise students in these programs. The ability to teach courses in one or more of the following areas is desirable: Compliance, sport finance, sport organizational theory and behavior and facilities/event management. Candidate must be able to incorporate technology into teaching. Will require service on departmental, college and university committees. Preference will be given to candidates with work experience in the sport industry, working with sports personnel and a strong background in conducting and supervising interns.
Qualifications
Doctorate in Sport Administration or Sports Management or Master in Sport Management with 18 horus in the content area. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 3 years of college teaching experience. All candidates must provide official transcripts at the time of employment and undergo a successful background check.
Full determination will be given to completed packets received by November 1, 2008: position available immediately, with a start date of January 2009.
