Position Title: Senior Web Administrator
Department: Information Technology
Status: Full-time/Exempt
Reports to: Director, Systems & Planning

Position Description
The Senior Web Administrator is responsible for the bulk of web services. He/she updates and maintains the University's intranet sites and assists Marketing and Communications with the University's main internet site; creates and maintains web server software programs and databases; and supports the web page creators throughout the campus. Taking direction and priorities from the Director of Systems & Planning, the Senior Web Administrator works independently to establish, support and maintain all web content hosted by JU servers.

Responsibilities
•Support and maintain the University's web content management software.
•Develop appropriate procedures to allow faculty, staff and students to update their own web pages within parameters of security access and accountability.
•Allocate and maintain server web space for the University's faculty, staff and students on campus.
•Assists the University with evaluating and purchasing any web related device or software that is needed.
•Develops custom code that integrates with various web applications on campus.
•Works closely with the Network Administrators when managing the University's web servers for various installations, upgrades and customizations.
•Maintain knowledge and skills associated with the rapidly changing web technology.
•Supports web components and third party software associated with the student information system.

Qualifications
•Degree in related field
•Ability to recognize, troubleshoot and resolve situations or problems
•Responds with a sense of urgency to immediate needs
•Understands directives and requirements of projects
•Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
•Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
•Good customer service, especially with end-users
•Ability to work independently; demonstrate good project management skills and ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks
•Minimum work experience - 5 to 7 years

Technical Skills Desired for Position:
•Experience as a web administrator responsible for a multi-page site
•Current understanding of the principles, operation and maintenance of a large multi-user developed web site
•Proficiency in web page design and creation
•Working knowledge of FTP, SMTP, TCP/IP, Active Directory and DSN
•Ability to program interactive web pages, preferably using ASP, .NET, C# or Visual Basic 
•Microsoft IIS administration experience REQUIRED
•Windows Server experience required, 2003 a plus
•Demonstrated understanding of .NET server platforms, database design and security issues
•Datatel WebAdvisor and/or ServletExec experience a plus
•Microsoft SharePoint portal design and management a plus

Working conditions: Typically inside; occasionally work will require some weekend/evening hours.
