Position Title: Resource Instructor, Aeronautics

Position Description
Jacksonville University seeks applications for the full-time, non tenure track position of Resource Instructor in Aeronautics starting in August 2008 for the fall semester.
Responsibilities
Normal teaching load will include four aviation science courses per semester taught under Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 141 to support our flight operations program. Flight instruction or conducting evaluation flights in the program are possibilities. Additional responsibilities will include student advising, scholarly and professional development activities, and university service activities.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor degree (Master’s preferred) and valid FAA Flight Instructor Certificate to teach any FAA ground schools (Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot, Multi-Engine Rating, Flight Instructor, Flight Instructor-Instrument).
2. Significant aviation industry experience in FAR Part 141 flight instruction and Part 121 crew operations environment.
3. Prior experience teaching FAA ground school courses in a collegiate setting will be considered a very positive complement to the minimum qualifications.
