Position Title: Vice President for Institutional Advancement

Position Description
- The Vice President is responsible for providing leadership in the planning, implementation and administration of the University's comprehensive fund raising, alumni affairs and public relations programs and initiatives.
- The Vice President has responsibility for and oversight of donor acquisition programs, capital projects, alumni/parent relations, The JU Fund (annual giving), major gift solicitation, corporate relations, foundation relations, planned giving, public affairs and media relations.
- The Vice President supervises the Assistant Vice President and the Directors of alumni/parent relations, foundation relations, government relations, University Council, planned giving and public affairs.
- The Vice President assists the Chair of the Development Committee of the Board of Trustees in his/her responsibilities.
- The Vice President serves as a member of the President's Cabinet.
- The Vice President works to coordinate fund raising efforts of campus groups such as athletics, Friends of the Fine Arts and Friends of the Library.
- The Vice President prepares and monitors the budget of the division.
Responsibilities
- The Vice President represents the interests of the University in the greater Jacksonville community.
- The Vice President represents the President and the University to professional local, regional and national groups as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and related experience
- Extensive knowledge of the principles and techniques utilized in directing a total advancement program
- Executive-level management skills
- Excellent communications and fund raising skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with and motivate staff and volunteers
Education Experience Required to Perform Job
- Track record of fund raising, management and writing skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial and donor data
- Extensive experience in inter-personal relations
