Position Title: Vice President for Administrative Services

Position Description
The Vice President for Administrative Services and Chief Financial Officer is the chief business officer and is responsible for directing the administrative and fiscal functions of the University.  Functions include accounting, budget management, purchasing, information technology, physical plant management, property management, human resources, and investments.  Must align financial and administrative procedures with University objectives and establish systems to ensure compliance with University expenditures and student needs.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the University.
  • Recommend and develop policies, procedures and systems to meet University objectives.
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organizations fiscal functions. 
  • Ensure timely and accurate budget analysis and financial review for management team.
  • Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of senior management on financial issues impacting their budgets.
  • Develop and advise on the impact of long range financial and organizational planning.
  • Provide strategic financial leadership and support on potential alliances, investments and other issues affecting the Universities business.
  • Participate in the negotiation of contracts.
  • Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board as an effective problem solver; be viewed as approachable and as a mentor to people with financial issues.
  • Develop and advise on cost and reimbursement strategies.
  • Evaluate the finance/administrative services structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with opportunities of individuals.

Education Experience required to perform job

Masters degree or equivalent; or ten years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
