Position Title: Director of Athletics

Position Description
The Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Jacksonville University is responsible to the President for developing and supervising a representative athletic program guided by the University mission and vision statement.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise the administration of the men's and women's athletic programs and provide oversight of all administrative, compliance, operational and business functions in accordance with the NCAA, Atlantic Sun Conference and institutional policies and procedures.
  • All Department members have full knowledge of and abide by the rules and regulations of the University, Atlantic Sun and NCAA.
  • Recruit and select staff.  Delegate responsibilities to assure efficient and productive operations of all administrative and athletic activities.
  • Develop policies and procedures including the preparation of an operational manual, necessary to effectively manage the Jacksonville University athletic program.
  • Develop and supervise annual operating and scholarship budgets.
    Approve all conference and non-conference schedules.
  • Approve initial grant-in-aid awards, renewals and non-renewals.
  • Oversee certification of student-athletes.
  • Direct fund raising and ticket sales activities.
  • Develop long range administrative, operational, compliance and athletic plans and goals.
  • Organize, direct and participate in activities that will promote a positive public image of Jacksonville University on campus, locally, regionally and nationally.
  • Serve on Jacksonville University, Atlantic Sun and NCAA committees.
  • Serve on President's Cabinet and at the pleasure of the President.

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree.
Good marketing and promotional skills.
