2/2/10 R. John Kaegi, who most recently served Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida (BCBSF) as its chief strategy officer, has joined Jacksonville University’s Davis College of Business (DCOB) as an Executive-in-Residence in the Leadership Center.

 1/19/10 Jacksonville University is proud to announce that the Davis College of Business (DCOB) has earned accreditation from AACSB International. AACSB is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master's and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.

12/16/09 Dr. Hassan Pordeli, professor of economics and finance, along with Peter Wynkoop of The HPW Group and Dr. Gwen Martin of the national Center for Women’s Business Research, recently completed a study entitled “The Economic Impact of Women-Owned Businesses in the United States.”

12/09/09 Jacksonville University (JU) is pleased to announce that the Mayo Clinic Executive Health Program is now a benefit of the Davis College of Business (DCOB) Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) Program.  JU President Dr. Kerry Romesburg will host a signing ceremony with Bob Brigham, Mayo Clinic chief administrative officer, at 10 a.m. Dec. 10 in the DCOB main entrance foyer to formalize and celebrate the initiative.

11/24/09 Alvin Brown, the president and CEO of the Willie Gary Classic Foundation, has joined Jacksonville University’s Davis College of Business (DCOB) as Executive-in-Residence.

Jacksonville University Flight Team finished in third place overall, second in Ground events and third in Flight events at the Region IX National Intercollegiate Flying Association’s (NIFA) Safety and Flight Evaluation Conference (SAFECON) hosted by JU at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, November 10-14, 2009. In addition to team awards, JU brought 20 individual trophies. Team member Sarah Morris was ranked the All-Around Top Female scoring contestant and Brian Rendini placed 9th overall among men. Morris was also ranked 5th top pilot. Jamil Jeffers earned 1st in Aircraft Preflight Inspection, Rendini won 2nd place in Aircraft Recognition, and Michael Beattie captured 2nd place in the Ground Trainer event.

9/30/09 Jacksonville University’s Davis College of Business (DCOB) announced the creation of a new blog, http://judaviscollegeofbusinessblog.ju.edu/. JU DCOB blog started at the beginning of the new academic term with contributions by faculty and administrators providing content for readers interested in business and leadership issues.

9/1/09 Dr. Juan Merkt, associate professor and director of Jacksonville University Division of Aeronautics in the Davis College of Business, has been elected secretary of the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI), the agency that establishes academic and training standards for college aviation programs world-wide.
