Associate Professor of Aeronautics

Dr. Rhett Yates is the co-advisor for the Jacksonville University Flight Team, Alpha Eta Rho, and A.A.A.E. student organizations. His dissertation research topic explored technology in collegiate aviation classrooms. His main research interest lies in curriculum development. Honors include: 2008 Loening Trophy (Advisor Jacksonville University Flight Team), 1999-2000 Teacher Recognition Award for the College of Science and Engineering, St. Cloud State University and 2000-2001 Outstanding Student Organization Advisor, University of North Dakota.

B.S. Aviation Management & Flight Technology, Florida Institute of Technology
Certified FAA pilot holding a commercial certificate with multi-engine instrument rating as well as advanced ground instructor rating.

Aviation History, Aviation Economics, Airline Management, Civil Aviation Operations, and Airport Planning & Management
 
Recent Scholarship & Research:
Developed aviation courses in United States, Trinidad & Tobago, and South Africa.
