The CTL Fall schedule is posted (see CTL Calendar!), and it promises to be a busy semester:

Newbies - Professors in their first year of teaching at JU

Panics – Professors going up for pre-tenure or tenure decisions

  • Distance Learning: The CTL is currently hiring a Distance Learning Coordinator (DLC). He or she will be responsbile for Blackbaord, Turnitin, Symposium Live and the development and implementation of online courses. Once he or she is in place, an addendum to the events will go out, highlighting these opportunities.
  • Observtions: A third party observation of your teaching can be invaluable feedback for the everyday class or for perfecting that one particular activity. The CTL director can directly observe you, arrange for videotaping of your class, and/or provide for another faculty member to observe you. All observations are confidential.
  • CTL Workshops: In addition to faculty learning communities, the CTL offers workshops on various teaching and scholarship topics. Please visit our "CTL Calendar" page for more information.

The CTL provides many resources for JU faculty, including a library CTL Titles 1.10.12.xls, meeting space, instructional technologies, and individual and group training.

Pass Card to CTL Access

Did you know that FT faculty have access to the CTL at all times (that the library itself is open) and can gain entry via their JU-ID? Have you ever gotten here and found the CTL locked and you didn't bring your ID? Well now there is a FT Faculty pass at the front desk, so you can come on in no mattter where your JU-ID is.
