Center for Community Engagement

Since our founding in 1934, Jacksonville University has a long tradition of community service. During the 2016-17 school year, the Jacksonville University community provided over 30,000 volunteer hours with an economic impact of over $700,000 (based on the nationally accepted value of $23.07 per volunteer hour). Jacksonville University also provided over $150k in support to charitable organizations through sponsorships and donations in that year alone.

We are proud to be part of a Jacksonville community that values service to others and has one of the highest volunteer rates in the country. Renaissance JaxJU is the Official Education Partner of Renaissance Jax

Jacksonville University is the proud official Education Partner of Renaissance Jax, a non-profit organization dedicated to invigorating technology culture. As an official Lego League Affiliate Partner for FIRST, they help Jacksonville-area kids and teenagers explore their love for engineering and technology in a fun, educational environment that promotes academic and career achievement. JU will offer 5 scholarships to FIRST students in partnership with the efforts of Renaissance Jax. Learn more from the Office of Admissions.

JU is a 2016 Partners in Philanthropy Award Recipient

Jacksonville University has received its second recognition for its philanthropic efforts by the Jacksonville Business Journal. On August, 5, 2016 the institution was recognized as a 2016 Partners in Philanthropy Award recipient in the "Large Company" category. The Partners in Philanthropy Award is given to those local businesses and organizations with outstanding contributions to philanthropic efforts.

JU is the 2016 Spirit of Service Award Recipient 

Jacksonville University is honored to receive HandsOn Jacksonville's 2016 Tillie K Fowler Spirit of Service Award. The Spirit of Service Award is given to those individuals, groups, or organizations that demonstrate longlasting and outstanding leadership in volunteerism. Jacksonville University was recognized for the over 30,000 combined community service hours contributed in the academic year 2015/16. 

 

 

                                            

 

About the Center for Community Engagement

The Jacksonville University Center for Community Engagement (CCE) was created to serve as the lead for the University’s community outreach. The CCE connects our University and the community through service. The CCE works with students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community partners to make a meaningful impact on our community while helping all Dolphins learn to serve, and serve to learn.​
