Page Content The art major is designed for the student who expects to remain a professional studio artist or craftsperson. The student is able to use this degree as a basis for entrance into M.F.A. graduate programs, into professional graduate programs such as architecture, medical illustration, art therapy, etc., or into practice as a studio artist in painting, printmaking, photography, etc. The art major is offered with either the B.F.A. or B.A. degree.
All students majoring in art will complete the art fundamentals and art history fundamentals courses and a concentration of 36 hours in their chosen area for the B.F.A. degree.
Concentration in Major: 36 hours
