To provide personalized attention and professional preparation for our students' music careers, offering tailored programs to meet a variety of needs within a well-rounded and academically challenging curriculum.  We are committed to leading our students to develop the knowledge, skills, concepts, and sensitivities essential to the professional life of the musician.

Music - it’s the universal language, and it plays an important role at Jacksonville University. Whether you’re starring in an opera or musical, improvising in a jazz ensemble, bringing to life great works in an orchestra or chamber group, or composing film or chamber music played by your peers, you'll definitely find your niche at JU. Making music at JU is more than rehearsals; it’s about cultivating relevant skills and meaningful friendships for your career and life. JU has a low student-teacher ratio, and is the perfect environment for you to know your professors closely as mentors and friends, and shine in your own way in our creative environment. Working closely with our distinguished faculty of professional performing artists and researchers, you can focus and refine your skills while you deepen your appreciation for the art. We live our mission – personalized attention and professional preparation for your career.
