Offered only in the Accelerated Degree Program, the Bachelor of Science (BS)
in Social Sciences introduces students to the major disciplines that make up the
social sciences and provides advanced coursework in several of these. Students
in this interdisciplinary program will also develop their analytical and
communication skills. Social sciences graduates will be prepared to enter a
variety of graduate or professional programs and to succeed in such careers as
business, education, government, information management and law.
Students earning the BS in Social Sciences are required to complete the
University Core requirements.

ELECTIVES
The student will also take 21 credit hours
of elective social science courses at the 300-400 level. Students can choose
from economics, geography, history, international studies, political science,
psychology or sociology. The student must choose from at least three different
disciplines. In determining the grade average for the major, only those social
science electives applied to the program will be counted.
The additional credit hours required for graduation will be chosen from other
course offerings of the student’s choosing. Students are required to have 120
credit hours to graduate.
