Sailing Team

With its home waters on the beautiful St. Johns River, the Jacksonville University Sailing Team is a rapidly growing, competitive organization. Operating under the Division of Student Life, the JU Sailing Team is made up of both new and experienced sailors and acts as a competitive racing team and as a recreational club. In fall 2012, it became the first collegiate varsity sailing team in Northeast Florida.

The team sails for the full academic year, traveling throughout the United States to compete with colleges and universities in weekend regattas (follow its progress during the season here). At home, the team practices on the river three times a week and works out together in the on-campus gym, the Tank, twice a week.

Sporting Clays, Skeet and Trap Team

The Jacksonville University Sporting Clays, Skeet and Trap Team was founded by Program Director and Head Coach David T. Dobson, with assistance from Dr. Priscilla Berry and Club President Justin Felker, in the Fall of 2009. The JUSST has the proud distinction of being a five-time (Divisional Event) ACUI National Champion and, in December 2011, the JUSST officially became a Varsity Team at JU.
