Resource Assistant Professor of Aeronautics
Professor Kendall was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management & Flight Operations from Jacksonville University in 2004 and a Master of Business Administration from Jacksonville University in 2011. Prior to graduation in 2004, Professor Kendall became a flight instructor for Delta Connection Academy (now Aerosim Flight Academy) an FAA Part 141 flight school.
Following graduation in 2004, Professor Kendall taught aviation courses at Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute in Hickory, North Carolina, which included pilot ground schools and Crew Resource Management. During this time Professor Kendall flight instructed under FAA Part 61 and Part 141 flight courses and also flew as a corporate pilot. In early 2006, Professor Kendall was hired by American Eagle Airlines and was based in New York’s LaGuardia and then Chicago’s O’Hare airport. Later, Professor Kendall was hired by PSA Airlines (US Airways Regional Airline) and based in Knoxville, Tennessee.
In 2009, Professor Kendall returned to Jacksonville University to teach in the Aviation Program. He currently teaches Aviation Science Instrument, Commercial-Multiengine, Elements of Flight Instruction (CFI) and Advanced Aircraft Systems III. He also serves as AABI (Aviation Accreditation Board International) auditor of Aerosim Flight Academy and oversees all Aviation Flight Operations courses. He is the faculty co-advisor for Women In Aviation International (WAI) and Aeronautical Honors Society, Alpha Omicron Alpha (AOA). He has served on the Davis College of Business Curriculum and Technology Committees. Professor Kendall serves on the FAA Safety Team for Northern Florida and is a member of Angel Flight Southeast.
The aircraft flown by Professor Kendall include: Bombardier CRJ-200 and CRJ-700; Embraer RJ 135, 140, and 145; Beechcraft King Air 100, 200, and 350; Cessna 414; and over 20 other types of single and multi-engine aircraft. His current certificates & ratings include: Flight Instructor Airplane Single-Engine Land, Instrument; Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Airplane Multiengine Land; Commercial Pilot Priviledges; Airplane Single Engine Land and Ground Instructor-Advanced/Instrument.
Professor Kendall's wife, Jessica, is an Elementary School Teacher for Duval County Schools in Jacksonville and is a graduate of Jacksonville University's Master of Education Program. They reside in Saint Augustine, Florida. Professor Kendall enjoys spending time with his family, golf, and fly fishing.
