The Davis Aviation Center educates and trains professional pilots, air traffic controllers, and aviation executives. With one-of-a-kind industry partnerships, a world-class curriculum centered on a strong business foundation, and direct paths to the career of your choice, JU Aviation will give you the skills and experience to achieve your dream of becoming an aviation professional. And of course, our aviation degree programs have earned the "seal of approval" from the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI).
1. A Small, Personalized Program
The Davis Aviation Center is small by design, with a teacher-to-student ratio that ensures individual attention. Our aviation program is a close-knit community where you will get to know your peers, professors and flight instructors and make life-long friends.
2. Attention to your Leadership Development.
With our small size, you will have endless opportunities to developing valuable leadership and teamwork skills by becoming an officer in one (or more) of our aviation student organizations such as the JU Flight Team, Alpha Eta Rho, or Women in Aviation.
3. World Class Accreditation Standards
There are very few programs in the world who can say that they are accredited by both AABI and AACSB. JU Aviation, with the Davis College of Business, is one of them. JU Aviation is accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI). The Davis College of Business is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
4. Award-Winning Aviation Program
Winner of the coveted Loening Trophy in 2008, Jacksonville University was recognized as the most Outstanding All-Around Collegiate Aviation Program in the United States. The Loening Trophy is the rarest and oldest of all collegiate aviation awards. First awarded in 1929 by aviation pioneer and inventor Dr. Grover Loening, the original judging committee included friends and aviation legends Charles Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart, and Navy Commander John Towers. The Loening Trophy is awarded annually at the National Intercollegiate Flying Association's SAFECON Competition.
5. Transferable Business Skills
Aviation and Business? Absolutely! Our aviation program is an integral part of the Davis College of Business. While earning your technical aviation skills you will also be obtaining business skills, a powerful credential that will help you succeed in your career in aviation.
