Dear Alumni, Friends, Faculty and Staff of JU:

As Chairman of the Board of Trustees and a proud alum, I am writing to update you on
an important process happening at campus. This academic year will be an exciting one
for JU.

As some of you may already know, President Kerry Romesburg has announced his
retirement effective June 30, 2013. After nine years of service at JU and more than 45
years in higher education, he and his wife, Judy, are looking forward to the next chapter
of their lives: traveling and being grandparents.

We owe President Romesburg a debt of gratitude for his vision and leadership. His
efforts have benefitted thousands of students and we will continue to reap the benefits of
his leadership as JU continues forward with so much positive momentum. This transition
marks a historic moment for JU as we celebrate the tremendous success of his long
career and the exciting selection of a new leader to continue that pattern at JU.

We have begun the search process for the next president. A national search firm has
provided us a substantial pool of qualified candidates. A committee, made up of trustees,
faculty and other University constituents, has been charged with narrowing the field. We
are working toward hosting finalists on campus in mid-October and naming the next
president soon after the Board of Trustees meeting at the end of October.

With the naming of the new president being our biggest pronouncement this fall, there
will be additional exciting announcements concerning the future of the University in the
near future. I invite you to follow JU at www.ju.edu or
www.facebook.com/jacksonvilleuniversity to keep up with all the news.

Thank you for your continued support,
